If you weren’t an OT what would you do? Ideally, I’d own a B&B or day spa in the countryside. Realistically, I’d be a stay-at-home mum.

Having first completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences at Adelaide University, Kate went on to complete a graduate-entry Masters of Occupational Therapy (University of South Australia) in 2008. Having being awarded a rural scholarship during her masters degree, Kate worked at the Port Pirie Regional Health Service. This position allowed Kate to experience many different areas of OT, and gain an interest in furthering her career as a paediatric OT. She moved back to Adelaide in a position at Autism SA, before joining the OTFC team in 2010. Kate has experience in providing aquatic therapy for children with Autism through SASRAPID. Kate also works part-time as a senior Autism Spectrum Disorder consultant at Disability Services and she engages in some casual teaching of OT students at UniSA. Kate’s role at OTFC has developed and changed over the years and these days she is the voice behind OTFC’s social media. Kate is always looking for opportunities to further her professional development, regularly attending workshops and presentations. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge and her enthusiasm for working with children extends into her spirited style of communication and engagement.
